These engines will be used to power the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), a fifth-generation fighter jet being designed and made indigenously. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to travel to Europe from May 2 to May 6 to have bilateral meetings with re-elected French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz apart from addressing the key India-Nordic summit in Copenhagen. With Macron getting re-elected as French President for the second term with a resounding vote, PM Modi is expected to drop by in Paris to meet and greet the leader of one of India’s closest bilateral partners. U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for South and Southeast Asia, Lindsey W. Ford, visited the TATA-Lockheed Martin Aerospace facility in Hyderabad on Friday. She also attended a round table at start-up incubator T-Hub, in which tech entrepreneurs from sectors as diverse as aerospace, healthcare, automotive, and software participated, the US Consulate said in a statement. “This visit highlights the strength of Hyderabad’s emerging tech sector and the Telangana government’s instrumental role in supporting start-up's, as well as the defence ties that are contributing [to] the U.S.-India partnership,” said U.S. Consul General Joel Reifman. TATA Advanced Systems’ partnerships with U.S. firms such as Lockheed, Boeing and GE - along with the presence of other U.S. firms like Honeywell Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney - have created a thriving environment for the aerospace and defence industry in Telangana. Speaking at the workshop on Green Shipping organised by the Ministry of Ports and Shipping at Hotel Grand Hyatt in Kochi, the minister said the vessels will be built by Cochin Shipyard. The decision is part of India's transformative efforts on the green energy and cost-effective alternate fuel front. Hydrogen fuel cells can be used in a wide range of applications, including transportation, material handling, stationary, portable, and emergency backup power applications. Fuel cells operating on hydrogen fuel are an efficient, environmentally-friendly direct current (DC) power source, and are now under development for marine applications.
